I don't feel good, you guys. :( At least this cold held off until after Friday, after all the family left.

Thanksgiving was awesome. We had it at my sister's and my dad's whole fmaily was there (minus the grandparents who are on a month-long cruise and two cousins who went to their mom's). There was, as usual, lots of laughing and such. People liked my cookies and the shortbread I made, which made me very happy. And since it was at my sister's, I got to come home and sleep in my own bed. That part was fabulous.

Friday I met my mom, sister, aunt, and cousin at the mall. It was nowhere near as crowded as I thought it'd be, so it was good. Then we came back to my apartment and called "the boys" (my dad, uncle, and other cousin). They met us here at my place and we had lunch and then everyone was on their way. I ran back out to get thread (which ended up costing me $40 in other fabric and stuff as well /o\) and then started not feeling well at all. I've been taking Advil Cold & Sinus like they're candy, but now I'm almost out. :( Which means I have to take a shower and leave my couch and go outside. Not cool, yo. Maybe in another hour or so.

Maybe. For now, I think I'll continue bonding with my couch and my tv. What are you up to, internets?

I'm the newest member of the Board of Directors for the Australian Ice Hockey League, and the first Events / Finals Director.

I'm also off to Everett to work for the Everett Silvertips of the WHL at the end of the month!

It's been an eventful few days.

Hey IWP.

I was thinking of maybe holding a LIMS (last icon maker standing) contest here. Basically it's kinda like an icontest, but you start out with x amount of players and every week someone gets voted off until you have one icon maker left!

To make it more community orientated, since not everyone has photoshop we would have you guys submit pictures to use for the weekly challenges. So every week every person participating would use the same picture and create a unique icon with it. Then everyone would vote for their favorite.

So this all depends on interest. The amount of people interested will be the number of weeks it'll go on.

Let me know what you guys think, and if you would like to sign up say so in the comments below!

I hate Adam Foote. I really and truly wish he'd announce an early retirement and stop costing the Avalanche games. Most Avs fans seem to love him (in fact, my fiance is the only other fan I know who desipses him) and I just don't know why. He left the team for three seasons, he's lazy and slow on the ice, makes ridiclious mistakes, runs his mouth to everyone (other players, refs, etc.), and screws us over almost every time he's out. I am embaressed he was given the C when Stastny deserved it way more.

Phew, that feels better! Unload your own frusturations!

Summary: When word gets out that Fraser has a porn collection, Canada is disgraced, Fraser's embarrassed and Ray nearly dies of curiosity.

Firstly and most importantly: I have a new HUGESCREEN monitor! \o/ The colors look a little funky on it (my layout is supposed to be gray, not tan! The DW sidebar is supposed to be tan, not yellow!) but otherwise it is wonderful to have so much more screen real estate. B took my malfunctioning monitor apart just for fun: wow, there are a lot of parts to a flatscreen, aren't there! Lots of weirdly shaped parts with no obvious function. Huh.

Yuletide: I have a plot! It is mostly in my head, but I have transferred about 1/4 of it to actual words. As often happens, I got a vague idea and wrote the beginning, and then while I was in bed lying awake at some wee hour, a better direction to continue in occurred to me. Whee! It's actually coming fairly easily. These characters are talkative, and I ♥ them a whole lot.

Festivids: I have a song and an idea, and a beta who told me that neither sucks! I have cut the song to a better length, and I have started clipping! I am excited about this vid even though at the moment it is just little pieces in my head.

Yuletide is special to me because it's a chance to write fanfiction for a source that isn't necessarily a "fandom" per se. Of course, nothing's stopping me from writing it on my own, but by doing it as a Yuletide story I both get a prompt to help spark my creativity, and at least one guaranteed reader (and usually more). Festivids is of course intended as the vidding equivalent of this, but actually, since vidding itself is something that I am really unlikely to do unless prodded, even independent of the fandom this is a delightful excuse for me to revisit the fun of putting together a vid.
